Auckland University Upgrade
OCL successfully secured the data cabling project for Auckland University's School of Medicine, a four-year endeavour in collaboration with Fletcher Construction. The project involved the complete refurbishment of three seven-story buildings and the construction of two new buildings.

Throughout the project, OCL installed 26 hub rooms, including tie copper and fibre cables, as well as a disaster recovery solution for the entire campus. All outlets and tie cables were thoroughly tested, labelled to meet the university’s specifications, and certified by the product manufacturer, providing the client with a 25-year warranty.

Additionally, OCL was awarded the contract by Fletcher Construction for the refurbishment and new building complex of the Science Block at Auckland University. Completed over three years, this project required OCL to maintain the seamless operation of the university’s data and voice network while running extensive cabling through the construction site. OCL installed 3,500 CAT6 data outlets and provided a 25-year maintenance warranty on both the product and workmanship.

OCL designed and installed over 7km of fibre network across Auckland University's Tamaki Campus. This project included the installation of ducts and manholes, as well as the hauling and termination of over 1,000 fibre ends before handover to the university.

As a preferred contractor for Auckland University, OCL undertakes a wide range of projects, from small miscellaneous tasks to large-scale installations. Major projects included:

-
Auckland University School of Medicine
Over a four-year period, OCL installed more than 5,500 CAT6 data outlets, backbone copper and fibre cabling, and constructed multiple hub rooms. The project also included final acceptance testing across four seven-story buildings, encompassing both new and refurbished structures on the campus.

-
Tamaki Campus
OCL supplied and installed over 7km of ducting and fibre hauling to interconnect all buildings on the campus. This involved terminating and testing over 1,000 fibre ends, ensuring full compliance and providing a comprehensive warranty for the solution.

-
Science Block Rebuild
OCL was contracted to install over 3,500 CAT6 data outlets as part of the Science Block refurbishment, a three-year project. Prior to construction, OCL redirected critical services to prevent disruption to the existing campus network. Additionally, OCL supplied and installed a high-capacity UPS to support the building’s power and data infrastructure.
Each installation is rigorously inspected and signed off by an independent consultant to ensure compliance with, and often exceed, Ministry of Education (MOE) standards.
